At the intersection of ancestral rituals and modern extraction technology sits a soothing anti-inflammatory remedy – CorDefense. This bioactive extract is sustainably sourced from Cape Bon, often referred to as the Good Cape in northeastern Tunisia. For centuries, coriander has had a strong influence in Mediterranean wellness culture for its nourishing and protective properties. CorDefense offers a unique complex of functional elements including anti-inflammatory fatty acids like petroselinic acid and linolenic acid, moisturizing phytosterols, and powerful antioxidant vitamin E. These nourishing compounds help soothe irritated skin, reduce redness and inflammation, and boost the skin’s antioxidant defenses. Coriander’s natural antibacterial activity helps maintain microbial balance on the skin by fighting off pathogenic bacteria without causing sensitization.
A modern green technology, known as supercritical CO2 extraction, is used to access and preserve the valuable bioactive phytonutrients in the coriander fruit. This method results in potent, highly stable extracts without residual solvents or potentially harmful residues.
The anti-inflammatory potential of 0.1% CorDefense was studied in-vitro on human keratinocytes (HaCaT) exposed to inflammation-inducing Bacterial Lipopolysaccharide (LPS). A significant reduction in three inflammation-related genes (TNFα, IL-1α, and IL-6) was observed vs. untreated control. Activity was assessed via RTqPCR quantification.
